About Dr. Joe Puentes
I have been working professionally with adolescents and adults for over 10 years. I love the work I do and find it a privilege to work with others who are interested in greater understanding and positive change in their lives. I provide a general therapy practice as well as specialize in Sport and Performance Psychology, helping people reach their full potential whether it be in sports, business, school or other performance settings.
I provide the benefit of working with a Licensed Psychologist with expertise in Sport and Performance Psychology. This allows clients to do therapy, Sport Psychology coaching or a combination of both. I bring my experiences working with All Americans, National Champions, Olympians and professional athletes together with my graduate training at the University of Southern California and the University of Notre Dame.
I aim to have a collaborative approach, where I believe you are the expert on you, your sport, and your particular situation, while I am the expert in the fields of Clinical and Sport Psychology. When we bring our expertise together, real meaningful change, along with transformative growth, can happen.
Outside of my work, I enjoy spending time in nature, being with friends and family, reading, listening to music, and watching and playing sports. I am originally from Illinois and am a life long Chicago Cubs fan. While I played multiple competitive sports growing up, baseball was the sport I loved most and pursued into college. I'm fortunate to continue to play baseball recreationally in Sonoma County.
