Joaquin Lopez de San Roman, LMFT
Approach and Background
I have been a licensed bilingual psychotherapist for the last 10 years, offering a mindful approach with a wide experience of settings and different populations.
I find it incredibly rewarding sitting with people and witnessing their transformation.
I create a space of emotional safety where the totality of yourself is welcome.
Through mindfulness and other ways of dropping in, we will explore what is important for you: the connection to the different resources that can help you, and when ready, we will delve into other aspects such as fear, anxiety, or grief.
My psychotherapy practice addresses:
-
Anxiety, Anger, and Depression
-
Trauma Resolution
-
Stress Management
-
Mindfulness
-
Grief Work
-
Spiritual Inquiry
I also specialize in Sport Psychology, working with athletes to maximize their performance through focusing exercises, emotional regulation, and ways of accessing their “zone.”
On a personal note, I am originally from Spain, living here in California for the last twenty years. I played college and professional tennis. I have been the Sonoma State University Women’s Tennis coach for the last 10 years. I am also an artist (poetry and sculpture). I currently live in Sebastopol with my wife Aimee and two kids, Ian (15) and Vida (13)
